The Scituate Soccer Club (SSC) assigns referees that are trained and certified by the national organization, US Soccer Federation, USSF. In Massachusetts, all referee courses are managed through www.massref.net which contains a great deal of related information. Individuals aged 14 and over are eligible to complete a grade 8 course. All referees must re-certify each year by completing all required coursework.
Beginning in the fall of 2013, SSC joined with other towns in our league, Coastal Youth Soccer League, in using the assigning software, gameofficials.net All SSC games are assigned using this on-line system. This platform allows communication between the member groups and allows referees the option of also refereeing in member towns. To register on gameofficials.net, contact an assignor for the instructions and access code.
